It seems that New Zealand pacer Trent Boult cannot outrun his misfortune. After missing a considerable number of games including the first Test of the series because of a muscle injury which he suffered during the tour in England, Trent Boult sustained a terrible fracture to his right hand while he was batting on Day 3 in the second test being held at the MCG.
An injury like this needs four weeks of rehabilitation at the very least, and as a result, Trent will miss the Sydney Test as well and has been ruled out for the rest of the series. A replacement player hasn’t been sought out yet but will be confirmed sooner rather than later.
An X-ray during the tea break confirmed the undisplaced fracture- Boult had suffered a fracture to the second metacarpal of his right hand.
