Delhi Capitals have traded Trent Boult to Mumbai Indians and it was confirmed by the team on November 13. Having purchased him for 2.20 Crores INR before the 2018 season of the Indian Premier League, Delhi has decided to offload the Kiwi pacer to go after spin options like Ravichandran Ashwin. The thinking behind this decision is the fact that the track at Delhi and more so, in the subcontinent, favors spinners.
Trent Boult began the 2018 season by picking up 18 wickets in just 14 games. However, things would soon go south as he only managed five victims in five games in the 2019 edition of the IPL managing a dismal average of 32.60. Boult’s IPL record reads: 33 games played, 38 wickets taken at an economy rate of 8.78.
Capitals have made several changes to their squad trading Sherfane Rutherford to Mumbai Indians and including Mayank Markande to their squad.
On the other hand, Kings XI Punjab fast bowler Ankit Rajpoot has been traded to Rajasthan Royals according to a BCCI media release. Rajpoot played only four games in IPL 2019 and was able to manage just three wickets at an economy of more than nine and an average of more than 50. The pacer has also featured for Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders since making his IPL debut in 2013.
