The West Indies all-rounder Hayley Matthews will be available for selection for the third ODI against India after her suspension for 8 international fixtures.
Hayley Matthews was banned for eight matches in September 2019 just ahead of the series against Australia. She was found guilty for breaching the Cricket West Indies’ Code of Conduct. She was handed the ban for the alleged incident after a training session by a six-member CWI Disciplinary Tribunal. The suspension was handed out by a disciplinary committee comprising Justice Winston Anderson (Chairman Independent), Madam Justice Desiree Bernand (Member – Independent), Justice Charles Pennycooke (Member – Independent), Carlisle Best (Member – Independent), Jeffrey Dujon (Member – Players Representative) and VerlynFaustin (CWI Corporate Secretary).
She has missed the entire home series against the Australians – three ODIs and three T20Is. The 21-year-old will serve two more matches of her ban at the start of the India series beginning on November 1. Following the ODIs there will be five T20Is. Matthews has been an integral member of the Caribbean side. She will be keen to cement her place in the national team. She will be eligible for selection from the third ODI on November 6.
