IPL 2019, the twelfth season of the cash-rich league started on 23 March and is currently in progress. The grand opening ceremony was canceled, to provide the funds involved in it to the families of the martyrs of the Pulwama attack.

The opening match witnessed two huge fans based Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) which took place in the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. However, the much-expected match ended up with RCB score just a mere 70 runs total losing all wickets at the end of 17.1 overs. CSK managed to chase this simple target without much difficulty and opened the points table with a win.
Ever since that RCB has been facing consecutive losses up until recently, they have lost all the 6 matches they have played against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mumbai Indians (MI), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Capitals (DC) respectively. RCB is the only team in this IPL 2019 season to not have secured even a single win.
The Rajasthan Royals (RR) is the next position to RCB from the bottom of the table with only one win in 5 matches they have played. Following it, the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), Delhi Capitals (DC), Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are in the table, with 3 wins each and ranked according to their Net Run Rate (NRR).
David Warner of SRH is the highest run scorer of this season so far with a total of 279 runs. Jonny Bairstow who also belongs to SRH holds the record for highest score in an inning with 114. Kagiso Rabada becomes the highest wicket-taker of the season now with 11 wickets. The West Indies pacer Alzarri Joseph who made his IPL debut on Saturday’s match of MI against SRH holds the best bowling figure of 6/12.
Currently, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) tops the points table with 4 wins and 1 loss in the 5 matches played holding an NRR of +1.058. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is in the second position with 4 wins and 1 loss in the 5 matches played holding an NRR of +0.159. SRH is in the third position with an NRR of +1.000. So these are the current standings of the IPL 2019.
