It was day 5 of the second Test when Australia claimed their first victory of this series in less than 15 overs to bowl on the final day. The Aussies easily wrapped up the fragile Indian lower order and equaled the series 1-1. This is the first win for Tim Paine’s as a Test captain in the Perth stadium.

The hosts won the game by 146 runs. India’s chase towards the target of 175 was crushed when Mitchell Starc sent back Hanuma Vihari. Following that Rishab Pant was also made out by Nathan Lyon. Pat Cummins cleared up the last two wickets of Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah.

In between the Indian squad for the 3rd and 4th Test has been announced by Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI). It has bee made official that Prithvi Shaw has been ruled out of the remaining two Test’s as well and Mayank Agarwal will be the replacement. Hardik Pandya also returns for the next two Test matches.
