The Indian team has already arrived in Brisbane and the players have started their training ahead of the opening T20I on Wednesday, 21-Nov-18. The 12-member Indian squad who will be playing the opening T20I have been announced. Team India captain and skipper Virat Kohli is back in action again after a break for this series. Rohit Sharma is named as the vice-captain and Rishab Pant is named as the wicket-keeper.
The BCCI announced 12-member squad for the 1st T20 International match at The Gabba, Brisbane, on 21-Nov-18 is as follows: Virat Kohli (c), Rohit Sharma (vc), Shikhar Dhawan, K.L. Rahul, Rishabh Pant (wk), Dinesh Karthik, Krunal Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Khaleel Ahmed and Yuzvendra Chahal.
Although India is ranked 2nd in the ICC T20 rankings and Australia is in 3rd position, there is some big difference between the two sides. Things are not quite good for Australia as India already wiped out the last time, winning series 3-0. Earlier, the Australian Cricketers’ Association (ACA) requested Cricket Australia (CA) to reduce the duration of the ban and bring the trio back before their original bans would end for India vs Australia series. But Cricket Australia confirmed that the ban will not be amended.
