India vs England, 3rd Test – Virat Kohli Breaks Sourav Ganguly’s Record

The 3rd Test of the five-match series between India and England took part on Trent Bridge, Nottingham. Today, during the fourth day of the Test, the Indian team managed to claim their first victory of the series. In this 3rd Test, Indian batsman, as well as bowlers, displayed their magnificent skills. India won against England by 203 runs and Kohli was awarded “Man of the Match”.

Virat Kohli smashed away Sourav Ganguly’s record as a Test captain. Kohli is the second most successful Indian Test captain who has claimed 22 victories during his tenure. Under his captaincy, team India played 38 Test matches in total, among which we have won 22, drawn 9 and lost 7. Previously Ganguly had a total of 21 wins registered to his name as a Test Captain.

Kohli has scored 97 runs in the 1st Innings and 103 runs in the 2nd Innings which played a significant role in India’s victory. Likewise, Jasprit Bumrah’s five-wicket haul gave India a boost towards the victory spot. Also, Kohli seems to be the only captain in Test Cricket to score six double hundreds. During the presentation ceremony, Kohli announced that the Indian team dedicates the Victory to Kerala flood victims.
