On Thursday, 10th January 2019, Vice Captain Rohit Sharma said India’s World Cup 2019 squad is pretty much settled however no one takes his place for granted as a poor performance could direct to slips.
Rohit said there could be a couple of changes in the squad, which will go up against Australia and New Zealand in the upcoming ODI series. “The squad that plays these 13 ODIs is pretty much a similar squad that will go to the World Cup. There will be a couple of changes, remembering the form and fitness concerns throughout the following few months,” Rohit said ahead of India’s upcoming first ODI against Australia in Sydney.
While looking at the slots, everyone wishes to come in the top form, but as said it is purely based on the performance. Rohit also warns his teammates to be careful and keep performing well while playing, so that changes in the squad might happen.
Rohit Sharma encourages the team talking about playing XI. There are still 13 matches and 4-5 months gap and two months of IPL before playing World Cup 2019. It is also announced that the current squad will miss Jasprit Bumrah for the upcoming matches against Australia and New Zealand giving him time to prepare for the World Cup.
